San Vito Lo Capo

Location: Italy, Sicily, San Vito Lo Capo (Trapani)

San Vito Lo Capo is a coastal village and resort with beautiful dream beach and unique nature.

The small Italian coastal community of San Vito Lo Capo is located on the western northern tip of Sicily. Most famous is the beach in a sheltered bay, above which Monte Monaco rises. In the center of the village is the Santuario di San Vito, a fortress-like building with Arabic-Norman architecture from the 15th century. The Arab-Norman influence is also evident in the tiny chapel dedicated to St. Crescenzia, which is outside the village on the main road…

Municipality of San Vito

Beach

The beach of San Vito Lo Capo is very beautiful. The water is transparent and the further you look, the more the color of the sea turns to turquoise. The surroundings are adorned by the nearby mountains. To the right of the beach edge stands the steep mountain Monaco, which makes the whole scenery a unique and dreamlike place.

Street promenade

On the promenade, in addition to the locals, there are many tourists. They enjoy a delicious ice cream during a walk. Especially in the early evening or at sunset the atmosphere is very nice. From time to time four-wheeled vehicles pass by in which the whole family can take an entertaining round trip. In the adjacent restaurants, bars or hotels there is the smell of food in the air. The low wall that separates the beach from the promenade serves as a popular place to sit or a romantic spot or is simply popular with children to run or dance over.

Harbor

In Porto (harbor), in addition to the many private boats and yachts, there are also boat rentals and a diving school.

Santuario di San Vito (Church and Square)

The Sanctuary of San Vito overlooks the homonymous square in the historic center, the undisputed symbol of San Vito Lo Capo and is certainly the most interesting monument of the city. Many people gather at this place and it is full of life here. Located on the main street, this place is the central point of the small town. Events and free concerts are held there again and again.

Faro di Capo San Vito (Lighthouse)

The way here to the lighthouse is worth it. Especially after sunset, a very harmonious atmosphere settles here. Unfortunately, the tower is privately owned and you can’t get onto the property. But in the near the lighthouse is a bunker located on the coast.
